About:

  1. The production of metallic zinc was described in the RASARNAVA written around 1200 A.D.
  2. The fourteenth century work RASARATNASSAMUCHCHAYA describes how the “tin-like” metal was made.
  3. Calamine was heated indirectly with charcoal to around 1000 C in a covered crucible fitted with a condenser. Zinc vapour was air cooled in the condenser located below the refractory crucible.   

Brief Profile:

  1. Er Rajendra Kumar Singhvi, Proprietor of SHRI PARSHWANATH MINERALS & METAL PROJECTS is Retired General Manager (Projects) from Hindustan Zinc Limited. He is a Metallurgical engineer from Malviya National Institute of Technology (MNIT), Jaipur. He has also done Diploma in Management from AIMA. Has +40 years of Industry experience, out of which 34 Years with Hindustan Zinc Limited, Udaipur as well as Vedanta Zinc International Namibia. He has also served ALCOBEX – Jodhpur (Aluminium, Copper, Brass Extrusion and Melting & casting) as a Metallurgical engineer. After retirement he has worked for RadiLogam  – Indonesia as a Technical consultant for setting up Zinc and Lead smelters.
  2. Presently he is technical consultant to some of the multinational as well as Indian equipment suppliers mainly related to Zinc, Copper, Lead, Silver and supporting customers related to  projects.
  3. He was the project in-charge for setting up, three Hydrometallurgical Zinc plants ranging from ~100 million USD to ~300 million USD (each of 210,000 MT per annum Zinc) based on Roast Leach Electro-win route at Chandariya as well as Dariba in Rajasthan, India and various other related projects of Hindustan Zinc including de-bottlenecking of Chandarira Zinc Smelter from 170 to 210 KTPA, Zinc Smelter Debari and Vizag each by 10,000 TPA.  All the Zinc smelters are working at +100% designed capacity. He has also associated with M/s Kaverner Metals – UK for preparation of feasibility report for setting up 100,000 TPA Zinc plant to be set up at Kapasan.
  4. He has also worked for due – diligence of Gamsberg mines South Africa and very closely worked with Outotec for development of process route during 2010 for Gamsberg Zinc Concentrate. He has also served at Skorpion Zinc, Namibia as Technical Consultant for  Refinery conversion project during 2015.
  5. He has Received 2001- MECON AWARD Instituted by “THE INDIAN INSTITUTE OF METALS”. In recognition of significant contribution to the development Of Process Engineering/Equipment and System Design for Nickel & Zinc.
  6. He has patent on “A process for extraction of nickel from low grade Chromite Ore” i.e chromite over burden of Sukinda Valley of Orissa. India. (Pub : AU-B-2002348824, 15th Apr 2010, (Australia).

  4. Conceptual engineering for setting up 10 TPD zinc plant from Zinc Ash of Galvanizing and other secondaries for a client of Gujarat during 2021.
  5. Conceptual engineering & Project cost estimation for setting up 300 kgs/day zinc tank house from Zinc Ash and other secondaries for a client of Gujarat Oct 2020. 
  6. Project cost estimation as well as opex for setting up Zinc Aluminium alloys for Mr Kunal Yadav of Bikaner during Sept 2020.
  7. Prepared techno-commercial offer 100 MTPD CAPACITY ZINC REFINERY & SMELTING PLANT for LİNEER METAL SANAYİ VE TİCARET A.Ş.,
    ISTANBUL, TURKEY during May – July 2020.
  8. Project Planning, Equipment Sourcing and Site Supervision in the capacity of Technical Consultant and Supervision of Site Execution, Inspection of 20,000 TPA Lead plant in Indonesia
  9. Preparation of pending jobs for pre-commissioning & Review of 30,000 TPA Zinc plant of Indonesian client during Nov 2019. The Zinc Concentrate with even High Mn can also be successfully treated. The complex having Lead and Zinc plant have Zero solid waste.
  10. Project Planning, Equipment Sourcing and Site Supervision as a Technical Consultant and Supervision of Site Execution to prepare concept note, major scope, project cost estimation etc for 250 KTPA Zinc Smelter to be setup by M/s Vedanta International Plc at Gamsberg, South Africa during June – July 2018.
  11. Project Planning, Equipment Sourcing and Site Supervision as a Technical Consultant and Supervision of Site Execution for Due diligence of Indonesian client who is setting up mini lead and Zinc plant, was carried out on behalf of M/s Nueva Asia Advisors Pte Ltd Singapore (Investor) during April – May 2018.
  12. Refinery Conversion Project for M/s Skorpion Zinc, Namibia (Vedanta) as a Technical Consultant from Feb 2015 to Oct 2015, worked for Setting up Roaster, Gas cleaning & acid plant. Also expansion of leaching section and debottlenecking of tank house so as to simultaneously treat calcine (ZnO) produced from Roaster. Project under hold. Was also involved for due-diligence of Zinc International during 2010.
